They are looking to hire a Technical Operations Specialist to join their elite trading systems operations group. This is an exciting, hands-on role that involves close collaboration with developers, quants, and traders to ensure smooth operation of the firm’s trading systems. Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Support: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure the stability and performance of the firm’s trading systems.
  • Development & Reporting: Create and maintain front-office reports to provide insights into trading activity and system performance.
  • Strategy Deployment: Assist in the deployment of new trading strategies and features, ensuring their smooth integration into the firm’s infrastructure.
  • Operational Procedures: Design, document, and improve operational procedures to ensure the efficient management of systems.
  • Software Development: Participate in software infrastructure development, focusing on automation and process improvement.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with IT groups across the firm to coordinate system releases, upgrades, and other operational activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • UNIX Environment: Proficiency in working within a UNIX environment, including strong skills in UNIX shell scripting.
  • Programming Skills: Solid experience with Python for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Debugging & Problem-Solving: Strong software debugging abilities, with a meticulous approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse teams including developers, quants, and traders.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a technical operations, DevOps, or site reliability engineer (SRE) role.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Additional Knowledge: A basic understanding of probability and statistics is beneficial.
